Guys-
I'll have to speak up on this one... It seems to me that a revision in the plumbing is allowed, therefore any number of T-fittings, elbows, and check valves would be okay in my book. ...
Okay, progress has begun...
I spoke with the guys at Shine racing last week. Eli was very helpful, and really showed a genuine interest in the "project." He recommended some guidelines based on...
I don't have experience with PB Blaster, but Kroil was a similar revelation. Puts WD40 to shame.
Not sure where to get the stuff (except off the shelf of my buddy's shop), but penetrates so well...
Bill-
I've sold my two CRX's this spring, so the Civic race car is the only Honda I have left. I also have an '03 GTI 20th Anniversary Edition, the '84 Scirocco mentioned above, and a '92 GTI...
No, I haven't switched camps. Still a Honda guy at heart!
I've purchased (for next to nothing) a Scirocco and it has become my favorite daily driver. I never knew how much fun the Mk1's were to...

Not only can you ONLY use the P28 (D16Z6) pistons, but you can not mill the head more than 0.025" or to result in more than 0.5 points increase in compression.
I think stock compression...

Thanks for the link. I know the site, but didn't think of it right away.
Racer 025-
I did mean the D16Z6, as found in the '93-95 Civic EX.
Regardless, new blocks are a bit cost...
P99-
It's important to remember that not all tire brands measure up to be the same. A 225 Kumho will fit against the control arm on a 14x7" wheel with 38mm offset. The 225 Hoosier may not.

Thanks for the clue, Bob!
I called my dealer this morning... he quoted me $3050 retail for a D16Z6 shortblock. Ug!

I know that Mazda (or more appropriately MAZDASPEED) sells brand spankin' new 1.6L Miata shortblocks through its dealer network. Buy a shortblock, slap your head on it, and go enter the nearest Spec...
The front LSD changes everything... to personal preference!
Try disconnecting the bar and see how it feels. The next step would be an adjustable rear bar. It's certainly mine...

2nd Gen Integra... That's the same platform as my '93 Civic Coupe, so I'll chime in here.
With a car this big and heavy, the ONLY way to keep traction (assuming stock open differential) is to...
I think I just shorted out my keyboard, drooling over all those pipes!!!!!!

Hi, all! Been away for awhile...
I love this thread!
I am writing to mention the proposal in the newest Fasttrack to move the ITS Civic EX to ITA at 2305lbs... THANK YOU MATT! What do you...
I misspoke earlier... I think the early Integra that had a D-motor (LS?) came with a 4.4 final drive. The English & European 4.4 D-series didn't turn up until the 5th Gen in the Rover variants. ...
Traditionally, any of the D-block final drives will interchange. This one may work!
Seems to me that earlier "Si" versions of the Civic (late '80s, early '90s) were available in Canada with a 4.4...

Is the 2001 Model Civic a K-motor?

Okay, I feel like a complete idiot right now. I can't even get the lock cylinder out!
I'm putting a knife, paperclip, sawblade... Whatever will fit into the slot above the lock cylinder and...

Stiffening up the rear of the car with a swaybar will help it turn much better. Some nice bars are available from Progress ( www.progressauto.com ) and from other reputable makers. ...
Sorry, I can't help with the 1st Gens. Just in case, though, my 5th Gen Civic and 2nd Gen CRX both use a 38mm offset.
-Tom
Removing it would probably help you turn and solve the "eating front tires" problem, too... Give it a shot, and let us know how it works!

I'll back Duncan up on this one. I actually posted it in the Bargain Shopper forum awhile back.
Discount beat the best price I could find, and got the tires cheaper too. Good folks, if you can...
