No real advantages except that 1993+ has VANOS for improved torque in the lower RPM's. Helps a lot out of the slower corners. Just avoid the 1992 cars.

It's been a while since I played around with IT BMW's, but my memory seems to recall the cars being ORIGINALLY classed at 2850, then it was changed to 2950 without any real precedent to do so in IT...

Interesting info Kevin. I've heard from others that the S05's are better than the S04's, and that the Kumho 710's are better still. Perhaps your car is just better setup for the older Hoosiers? ...

The dirt isn't the problem. After 2-3 years of heavy use, the foam liner and the beaded protection material become compressed. The helmet doesn't fit as well and is no longer as safe.

Do people actually use helmets for more than 5 years anyway?

Should be pretty easy to pull the lower trailing arm off the car and measure to find the motion ratio in order to compare spring rates. I don't know the number for the E30 off the top of my head.

Same thing happens at Road Atlanta and VIR. It's always exciting trying to guess just how much grip you have on various portions of the track each time you come around on successive laps.

If there's no standing water, I've always been faster on normal slicks. The line dries up after 2-3 laps anyway.

Tom...those vents are specifically allowed in the Spec Miata rules. Rule 17.1.9.C.7.i in the SMCS to be exact. There's no such allowance in the ITCS that I know of.
