I went woohoo because I ran 140#'s of ballast, with a full tank of gas, in my 83 ITB Scirocco. For reference, I weighed 145 at the time.
Hi Drew,
Don't worry about it. If they have gone to the trouble of finishing it for G-prod then I will just have to find another one. Oh well, you never know what the future holds :) .
I...
First, I want to thank all those that worked hard on this. :happy204:
Second... Has anyone seen my old Scirocco :(
Edit: See below
Which Scirocco and in what class? I had to put that much weight back in my 83 8V for ITB to make the 2270# minimum back in 2001 and 2002.
Nevermind... I just read the Fastrack addendum thread...
I wouldn't protest you over it. If it were my car and I didn't have the means to easily fix it, I'd paint the inside of the door black.
I thought that metallic blue looked familiar :)
I'll go ahead and build my next car with metal/teflon/metal bushings. :birra:
New rules and old rules specifically say you can't modify/cut the side impact beam in IT period. I was able to damn near make the drivers side door bars touch the inside of the sheet metal door skin...
At some point someone asked for input.
I vote for spherical bearings/bushings (does the teflon liner make them more like a bushing ? ).
I like them because they last forever and...
Pics are on the way.
Same Audi.
I lost track of this thread...
I did drive it everyday for a while and always drove it to the track. I still have fond memories of driving to St. Louis, in October, wearing my ski mask

I think anything under $300/pair would be good. I would do steel so people can weld them if they want.
Here's a couple of pictures of the plates I made for my '83 Scirocco. :023:
There is Bill Pichardo in CO.
There are more...

The car in that accident was a full blown racecar running in GT2. The incident happened during the Saturday regional race.
In 2001, when I built the car, you could only gut the drivers side. That is why only the drivers side is gutted and the passeger side has the glass, door panel, etc. intact.
I would change the...
Using the "My Assistant" function, I discovered that it's possible to bring up the top ten posters of all time. #1 happens to be one Bill Miller who registered on Jan. 18 2001.
Do I win any...
Agreed :023: :happy204:
Not that it matters, but I have noticed that the smilies and sigs with pics, that were transfered with the posts from the old forum, aren't displaying right.
Since we've been provided with these neat tech sub-forums, I thought it might be fun/educational for people to put up pics of their interpretations of "NASCAR" bars.

The biggest radiator that came in an A1 chassis is the one in 16V Sciroccos. The A/C version has the top outlet pointed at the pass. side fender. The non A/C version is the same as a Golf rad with...

ITB:
My old 83 Scirocco was 90hp at 2270lbs
Albins 85 GTI was 105hp at 2280lbs.
I put the fuel cell in that black car in the fall of 2000. jay was a nice guy and a heck of a driver.

What kind of car? How heavy/light?
I've been known to force a tire or two into submission and get a 225 crammed onto a 6" wheel.

The 5" round fits in the car better. If you have a fuel cell, or a triangulated panhard mount, the oval one is a mother to get in there.
Forgot to add: You need to smash the rocks with a hammer...
If you have camber plates (with enough adjustability), you can set the eccentric bolts at the upright for full positive and then adjust back to the desired negative camber with the plates. This will...
