Willans harnesses should be FIA approved in any event and hence good for 5 years.

What he said - you would have more rolling friction with the larger contact patches, subtracting from straight line hp but you should have better cornering and braking with the larger tires. But if...
The stock air cleaner on the Manta is quite restrictive and the stock intake duct from next to the radiator is too small. I haven't tried modifying them yet, but that may be the way to go. I...
Ray:
Kirk or Bill Miller should have a spreadsheet. You should find the discussion under Miller ratios in IT. Or you could wait a few weeks and the topic will be resurrected for its obligatory...
My ratings:
Lime Rock: 1
Mid-Ohio: 1(great 'technical' track but too far for me (CT))
Watkins Glen: 2 (somewhat long for an IT car)
Summit Point: 2 ('technical' track (turns 4-8 are awesome) but...
Speaking of Lancia Scorpions, I was watching the runoff marathon on the 25th and the FProd race had a nice-looking Lancia driven by Strittmatter (who as mentioned above used to drive a Fiat 124) to a...
Re the Opel CR, when I get the straight dope from Dennard and/or Legere I'll post it. It seemed like this petition has a lot of history behind it - more than the 10 yrs worth Peter suggests... BTW,...
I am 38. I race an Opel Manta in ITB. I resumed racing this car in the year 2001, having raced it in 1995 (Central div).

The story behind the CR spec for the Mantas is long and complex (which means I know little of it...someone like Bob Legere can fill in) and has nothing to do with CA's. I was under the impression...
Hmm...most annoying..The Opel compression ratio gift given to us in August of 9:1 was reduced back down to 7.6:1, in the Tech Buletin Errors Omissions.. Section. Alright, who ratted ? Come on out !
...
Dave Strittmatter (sp ?) ran a fast red Fiat Spyder 124 (?) in ITB at Watkins Glen, a couple of years ago. As I recall he finished 1st and top 5 on Sat & Sun.

Rick Pocock's red ITB Alfa spyder is for sale (check in Sportscar). Rick was my instructor in school at Lime Rock and probably still owns the LRP track record in that Alfa. Very nice looking car too....
Off-road suspension, eh :-) ?? Will keep it in mind.. Funny, the number of people who came up to me - both racers and general public alike, saying the same thing about the..er..little gardening I did...
Good to hear from you Ray. Thanks for chipping in. Good data point. The Opel now has the option of using 9:1 pistons and larger valves and as I sit at home with a blown motor I was considering taking...
I don't think I saw any discussion on this topic before. As I mull my options over the winter break, I wondered how much money ppl pour into building their IT-legal engines. This, I imagine is a...

DC Region used to do this (have a tech person at registration to stare at your helmet and hand you a sticker) a couple of years ago at Summit Point. Registration and tech were pretty fast there even...
Got the main relay. Getting it out wasn't half as bad as I feared it could be. A while back I changed the multipoint ignition switch on this car. That, my friends, took some flexibility.
Haven't...
I had replaced the ignitor (ignition module) after being informed by others of its high failure rate. (See step 6). It's an el cheapo unit from Pep Boys.
About the main relay: I couldn't find it...
A minute after I posted this, I read the thread in which Richy had a problem with hot start attributed to the main relay. Could this be the cause of my problem as well ?

Folks:
I inherited an 89 CRX Si from my gf to convert into racecar for the 2004 season. (I currently race a 74 Opel in ITB but it's on its last legs..)
Anyhoo, the CRX used to have some...
Cheers,

Guys:
Non-racing related question but one for the Honda experts. My girlfriend's CRX Si is eating ignition modules. It's gone through 3 already in the last 4 years. The first time it happened I...
