...coughSTUCamaro....coughSTUMustang.....
As the man (generic) said, rules are rules...until they're not.
Just wanted to point out, before someone else chimes in, that the original post is almost 3 years old. I'm guessing Dave has probably made up his mind by now :D
Holy shit! $235 a tire for 205/15s... You can still get the Hoosier SM wets for around $170.
Full-tread (or shaved to 6/32) Toyo RA1s have generally been the poor man's alternative to Ho-Hos. Not as fast, but won't over-heat if the track dries out either.
That said, as one who has thus...
MARRS 2 @ VIR will be the first race for me. I may come up to spectate for M1.
AJ - look under "Quick Links", that's where it is for me.
I think he was talking about your first statement that "gears are free" - just pointing out that rear-end gears are free, not trans gears. At least that's how I took it.
Yeah, the point about...
Ok, I'm pretty sure I know, but just wanted to run it past our resident rules experts: any factory option that was available for the model/year car listed on the spec line is legal, unless it differs...
Agree 100% with both of those :023:
No, I didn't get a link to the passes either. Sounds like maybe NCR has to work out a few kinks with the DLB system. I know DC Region has had a few issues in the past, so I'm not shocked. I am a...
It's still there; just make sure DLB is showing events for the North Carolina Region, and you're looking in May.
There was nothing coming out any of the exhaust ports (as near as I could tell); all the leakage seemed to be going into the engine. I'll keep an eye on it, but may go ahead and replace the exhaust...
Ok, so as if to make Greg's point, the leakdown showed a little more variance between cylinders. #1 was around 3%, #2 & #3 were 2%, and #4 was just over 5% (fwiw, comp #s were 179, 181, 184, 181)....
Thanks guys - in the past I've always run both tests at the start of the year as a general health check for the engine. I checked compression yesterday, but it was getting late and I didn't have time...
...to run leak-down tests if the compression numbers look really good?
Registration is open - they're using DLB Racing for registration now, just look under North Carolina Region events. Already 20 cars registered in ITR/S/A/7/T3 with 3 weeks to go.
"Cars originally equipped with twelve (12) inch wheels may fit thirteen (13) inch wheels. Cars originally equipped with metric 365 wheels may fit fourteen (14) inch wheels, and cars originally...
Cross-posted from RRAX.com, in case you don't go there:
BFG recommends one heat cycle, then let them sit for 24 hrs. Pressures appear to be in the Hoosier range - they have a pretty good guide for the R1 here.
No shit!?!?!? That's new...
LOL, just checked - "estimated availability - fewer than 8" :017: Looks like even the Tirerack's mojo is weak when it comes to Hankook.
Details...
Has been announced - details here - no love for the regional racers this time around, only for the Pro Solo, Solo National, and Runoffs (limited classes) guys.
No way - I though Nissan dropped the support 5-6 years ago?
Damn, I probably coulda built a second motor...
For those who may have missed it - Nissan has instituted "racer support" and contingency programs for 2010. Information on the programs is here; click on "2010 Racer Support" for program details, and...
