It would seem SCCA is more interested in promoting the welfare of sfi than it's racers. :(

Still no news? I guess I'm looking at a new suit to replace my perfectly good OMP FIA 1986 suit. What's another $800 - 1000 dollar expenditure, right? :(
I live in Western PA but race the MARRS series. I raced once at VIR many years ago (2001 or 2002 I think) and love the track but don't like the 8 hour tow so I haven't been back. I have raced at the...
I've NEVER had a problem purchasing 6X13 Panasports for my car and none of the guys I race with have ever complained about having trouble purchasing wheels, the Volvo guys, the other BMW guys, the VW...
How did I miss the rules change regarding cams??
Believe me I wasn't too happy with my times that afternoon. If only my diff hadn't come apart after 2 laps! I learned a valuable lesson anyway. Use Loc-tite on your ring gear bolts!
The poor Alfa and Volvo were QUITE successful in ITB in MARRS this season too.
That's brilliant. I'm looking at registration for the final MARRS race this weekend and guess what? This rule would reduce ITB entries from 16 to 4. I'm sure you're thinking that those guys would...
Well, I would ertainly vote "NO" for this, purely from self-interest of course. I don't think I could fit 7's on the rear of my '02, and certainly don't have the fender clearance to take advantage of...
Yeah, they'll still complain about whatever weight they get assigned.
I replumbed / eliminated the ABS on an Audi 90 Quattro street car once. Your Bimmer still has to have a dual circuit M/C so it shouldn't be too big a deal (easy for me to say).
We didn't get to the track until almost 8PM Friday. When we crossed from registration and saw the crowded paddock ahead of us we made a right, pretty much in the area of the kink on the back...
Thanks for that link!
Much better than the "lame Miata and vette incar stuff" I've been checking out
Dan, thanks for the advice also.
See everyone there, Safe travels!
Sadly for me, I can't head over until Friday afternoon due to work commitments. I'm sitting in a hotel in Jax, Fla all week trying to learn the track from YouTube!
I didn't realize how busy his weekend already was! I guess that explains why he started at the rear of the field. He was really making good progress through the pack when he had his mishap.
Sam racked up his car pretty good coming down the chute at Summit Sunday. Hopefully he gets things back together.
Split starts? I wasn't aware of that! See you at the track.
Thanks for the comments, guys. I will add plates this winter when I add my pass. side door bar.
Bill, I remember looking at your car but the details have long since escaped this old tired brain.
My car has a welded cage, but it bolts to the floor. There are currently small plates welded to the tubes for this. I want to add the larger plates so that my cage can tie in to the inner rockers for...
And let the CIS cars adapt Mega-Squirt................ :happy204:
When I was young my next door neighbor raced Triumph TR3s in SCCA. Later on in life I ran into him and told him of my memories of him loading his car on the flat trailer behind his old Ford wagon for...
I was at the Labor Day MARRS at Summit Point. Saturday morning qualifying was steady rain from the hurricane that made it's way north that week. I paid particular attention to the ITB guys and the...
When I got into this I had planned to do my first driver's school at the DC Region Fall school in '99. It seemed the stars were all lined up for me. The school was on my birthday weekend (what a...
Honestly Bill, I'm currently thinking more along the lines of an FProd 912 or 914 :D
By the way, I just got my license back and plan to run the last MARRS race. Thanks for your help!
Dave, My system was a bit more complicated than removing a fuse. I had to remove the ABS pump assy, which meant re-plumbing the lines near the master cylinder. It still wasn't rocket science.
BTW,...
