Jon Milledge's phone number is 805-704-8785. That's his new number in California.
He's forgotten more about 944's than most people will ever know.

I disagree with Timo. I raced for MANY years in a 944 with the phone dials, and the only problems I had with them were caused by the driver doing something stupid.
The later suspension is better...
The (aluminum, I have no experience with steel) control arms do not break, if you care for them correctly. You DO need to inspect them for each session - if there's ANY play in the ball joint, you...
It has the side bolsters, yes - it's model 4009WHR. FIA approved, with mounting brackets, no seat back brace needed to be legal.
Hi,
I sold my 944 stuff - I have for sale some 28mm rear torsion bars, and a really nice carbon fiber RaceTech FIA approved seat - model 4009W (for "Wide"). You can go go the RaceTech web site...
OK, I have to run out to ref a hockey game, but when I have time I'll write a longer reply.
1. I am currently running a 944S (16V), not the 944NA 8v.
2. I really think that the 944NA belongs...
Why, thanks for the compliment, Jake...
I'm thinking that might be a good weight in A for the 944 NA 8V - I'm sharpening my pencil...
I DO think that the earlier (pre-85.5) 944 chassis are...
I agree that the 9448V is sort of a 'tweener'. It's too light at 2575 for ITS. I couldn't have, even if I went on a 25lb diet (which I could use) made the car, with no fuel, weigh less than 2665,...
I very highly doubt that any 944NA racers are able to come even close to the weight as it stands right now - I suspect that you could make the minimum weight 1,000 pounds and it wouldn't make any...
How's the car, Bill? I'm looking forward to a rematch!
I'm going down.

Looking forward to having a great time!
Hi all,
I'm going down to the ARRC - I'd love to paddock with some fellow Northeasters...

The suspension arrangement in the rear of a 944 is adjustable for ride height, camber, and toe. It does take some experience and a few tricks to get them all right at the same time, but once you've...
I'm not sure I understand what sucks about the rear torsion bars. They're just as effective as coil springs, they have a much lower unsprung mass, and they're much closer to the ground.
Hmmm...
Looking at the above posts, I can say that is certainly a lot of (mostly wrong) speculation going on about the 944S.
Here's my $0.02:
1. The HP gains are actually less than you think, and we...
Umm, 275 - yeah, right. Your first number is actually more than we make, and I have the dyno sheets to prove it. Kip's engine and mine are essentially identical, I think - Russ' was built by...
Yeah, I was pretty amused to see that right rear wheel completely stopped every lap on the way up the hill out of the toe of the boot.
Ditto on the nice, clean racing - it made it a lot of fun. ...
I turned a 2:14.9 on the same weekend that Nick turned the lap record - it must have been a very good day - the right temperatures, the right track conditions, everything.
Don't forget that we had...
I was kinda figuring that coming down the hill into the boot was going to be a good spot :-).
I'm really sorry that you ended up the way you did - we were having a good race up until that point -...
I thought, maybe incorrectly, that the pace car had picked up the overall leader, who was running very fast, and that he had lapped most of the ITS field, thereby sticking those cars that he had...
I know we've seen a lot of opinions on the bushing replacement issue, but I'll add mine anyway.
I firmly believe that the spherical bearings in a car I know about are perfectly legal within the...
The problem with both of those is that they don't usually work. I'm not sure what you would do with a compression gauge - there are way too many variables to have the PSI generated in the cylinder...
May I ask how you would know that tidbit??
(The 209hp number, that is...)

Hey, does anyone know who won it ITS on Sunday?
I wish I could have been there, it was a beautiful day!

On your car (and I suspect, a lot of others), you can remove the ignition lock assembly (which is actually a separate thing from the switch itself) and just grind off the pin that engages in slot in...
