I don't believe it is legal to remove the wiring, only repair it if needed. I would love to be wrong on this.:)
Jim, the answer is yes and yes.
I have had a rotor have this issue, luckily it was only one stud so I never lost a wheel. I first heard of this problem with Brembo rotors about two years ago.
Of course not.
But it has absolutely no affect on any aspect of IT performance so only a d!(k would oppose it. Meaning, someone will, in the interest of maintaining the purity of the class. :)
All the RX7's I've seen have had four bolts installed in the sunroof. Two on the leading edge and two on the trailing edge. These pass tech in California.
My interpretation of the updating/backdating rule is that in order to use the '79 intake manifold you must also use the '79 carb because together they make up the "induction system". Similarly you...
Please save me some research time. 1) Is putting a 79/80 intake manifold on a '84 motor legal? 2) What do I gain by doing this?
thanks
Here's what I did. I took the sunroof out and used a bench grinder around the periphery of the sunroof. This effectively split the upper part of the roof from the reinforcement structure. I weighed...
I need a driveshaft for a 1st gen. Needs to be new or nearly new. Let me know if you (or anyone else) have one.
Everything you mentioned except hollow roll bars has been done and I don't think those are worth 20lb by themselves. Funny, but that seems to be a list of several 3-5 pound modifications that add up...
If you can provide me with tips that legally removes an additional 20lbs from my car I'll pay YOU $500.
I keep seeing references to 3-5lbs not being important. I disagree. A couple years ago the 1st gen RX7 was given a 100lb weight reduction. That's great. Except as far as I know, no one can get that...
Of course you can.

"Stock replacement parts may be obtained from sources other than the manufacturer provided they are the exact equivalent of the original parts. "
I need to ask a question, are you talking about a 1st gen or 2nd gen? '83 up was mentioned but your signature says you drive a 2nd gen.
Here's my experience with a 1st gen. When I changed to ITA...
Keep in mind that there is a small difference in ratios between 79-83 and 84-85.
79-83 3.674 2.218 1.433 1.000 0.825
84-85 3.622 2.186 1.419 1.000 0.807

Oh, oh, oh, let me be first?!?
"they were all brazed and beefed up, in addition to safety wire."
And where in the IT rules does it say you can do that?
Thanks, I enjoyed that. :happy204:
If you aren't talking about a 1st gen RX7, ignore my post. You don't mention anywhere what model Mazda you are asking about.
My experience, which has been echoed by some others, is that the 1st...
I use the stock ignition system. It seems to work just fine.
Mazdatrix can also supply the jets.
I'm using the PowerPulse on a1st gen. It is able to keep me below 100db. Since you are running a 13B YMMV. Mazdatrix sells, uses and highly recommends this muffler.
Be aware that with this...
When Tom does your cage he's going to want to put in NASCAR bars. Having these bars allows you to gut the door which includes removing the glass. If you don't have NASCAR bars into the door, you...
You're right, this is better than Desperate Housewives.
Wait a minute, did I just admit that I watch Desperate Housewives? Joe, the name is Joe. B)
The difference is, Greg was insulting Andy. Andy was insulting everyone. Since I include myself in the "everyone" category, I didn't care for it much since I hadn't done anything to anyone. :018:

I think there may be some history going on here but as a new-comer to this group I gotta say, Andy, the above comments in your post struck me as condescending and insulting. And anti-Miata?? You...
Well yeah, it's easy up to that point. And then they're going to tell you how much it costs! :o
