The last portion was added in order to make thread bodies allowed. In the past, you had to use a threaded sleeve in order to be legal. The springs must still be in the original location.
You can call up any number of manufacturers and have custom pistons and rings made...almost had to do it yesterday when a ring broke on the S50B32 we are putting in my father's M3. So you need a 2mm...
The advantage isn't going to come in the upper RPM's and higher speeds...in fact, the slightly hotter cam of the 1992 will be an advantage there. The advantage does come in the slowest corners where...
No real advantages except that 1993+ has VANOS for improved torque in the lower RPM's. Helps a lot out of the slower corners. Just avoid the 1992 cars.
The rest of the differences really comes...
What I find amusing is that the illegal cars rarely run at the front.
The problem is that I rarely see people coming to a "controlled" stop in red flag conditions. They see a red flag and go into panic mode and forget to check their mirros when when I'm only a car...
5-8 seconds PER LAP? Did the York and Sunbelt cars have superchargers at CMP?

It's been a while since I played around with IT BMW's, but my memory seems to recall the cars being ORIGINALLY classed at 2850, then it was changed to 2950 without any real precedent to do so in IT...
Interesting info Kevin. I've heard from others that the S05's are better than the S04's, and that the Kumho 710's are better still. Perhaps your car is just better setup for the older Hoosiers? ...
The dirt isn't the problem. After 2-3 years of heavy use, the foam liner and the beaded protection material become compressed. The helmet doesn't fit as well and is no longer as safe.
Do people actually use helmets for more than 5 years anyway?
Obviously the lifespan can't be that short (5 years) unless they plan to release new helmet certifications every 3-4 years. There...
How is it a problem is both series have full fields of cars and sponsors? Further, both series have VERY different racing types...one being endurance and the other sprint. Many drivers have driven...
The X-brace doesn't seem to fit the "one front stayrod" rule because it doesn't attach between lower suspension mounting points and it is made up of multiple stayrods that attach in 4 different...
I'm pretty sure that off-center bushings have stood up to protest in the past, but I don't know that for sure. I'm still just getting into this IT thing.
ANY bushing, no matter how offset, is...
Should be pretty easy to pull the lower trailing arm off the car and measure to find the motion ratio in order to compare spring rates. I don't know the number for the E30 off the top of my head.
Same thing happens at Road Atlanta and VIR. It's always exciting trying to guess just how much grip you have on various portions of the track each time you come around on successive laps.
If there's no standing water, I've always been faster on normal slicks. The line dries up after 2-3 laps anyway.
Of course, sometimes it's nice to have some partial tread tires to run when the...
Well, if you are looking for cheap, just get the cheapest full tread Toyo's, Kumho Victo's, or whatever else you can. They will work ok I guess, but real rain tires use softer compounds so that they...

I grew up going to school with a lot of that family! http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif Are you from the Winston-Salem area?
I can't really add much to the thread other than what has...
The sheet metal isn't the weak link. The bushings are. Worn/broken bushings are usually the cause for the sheet metal actually having problems. Replace the bushings with a solid spherical and you...
Tom...those vents are specifically allowed in the Spec Miata rules. Rule 17.1.9.C.7.i in the SMCS to be exact. There's no such allowance in the ITCS that I know of.
That would definitely be my preference.
Rear coilovers aren't allowed as the spring wouldn't be in the original location.
The portion talking about threaded body shocks/struts is a new rule to allow threaded bodies instead of having to...
