KT,
Following the advice in your previous dissertation on setting up the 240Z, I plan to switch from "west coast" setup to "east coast" (see specifics below). Two questions
please:
1) By the...
I have had good results with stock PP
and Nissan comp clutch in an ITS-240Z
Yozsi,
Here on the "left coast", two local cage builders that come recommeded are:
TC Designs http://www.tcdesignfab.com/ in the bay area, and
and Jason Hoover Motorsports (530)677-5752 in...
I have gone through my first set of '04s. The grip really fell off in the 7th heat cycle. These were never set aside after the first heat cycle.
My second set have been heat cycled and "set aside"...
Yes!
Timely topic for me. Over the winter I invested big $$ on the Quaife after running a welded diff on an ITS240Z for a number of years.
First time out with the Quaife at Sears Point this weekend, I...

Just replaced my welded diff with a Quaife ATB unit on my ITS240Z. Last weekend at Sears Point I experienced extreme wheel spin on the inside drive wheel. I was leaving 50ft strips of rubber out of...
Bill,
How much do you want for both
rear stub axles and the outer
1/2 shaft flanges?
You can PM me at its_racer(at)surewest.net
Thanks,
Todd
Do you still have the rear stub axels and half shaft flanges?
If so, how old are the axles?
Thanks,
Todd
I have a set of the new Hoosiers. Did not get to use them at the Western States Shootout in Nov as planned (rain).
They seem way too soft to last like Toyos. The sidewalls are extremely ridged. They...
On their website, Kumho gives the sizes for the initial release. All are 15" plus.
They do commit to adding more sizes throughout 2004.
Intresting note also is they will be phasing out the ECSTA...

Terry,
The first step is to identify the class you want to get back to racing in.
Not sure what class you could run a hybrid 280/240z that would not be a "catch all" class such as NASA Super...
1) 'Early' R180s had a 110mm ring gear, and were used up until 7/76,which is well into the first year of 280Z production.
2) 'Late' R180s had 115mm ring gear, are were used beginning 8/76.

You must drive the orange Z with the black hood that was at Infinion last weekend. I wanted to stop and say hi, but I was way up on the hill busy with my own car ( I drive the blu/wht #30 ITS-Z car)....
Thanks for the info.
Curious as to why spherical bushings will make getting the necessary camber difficult. These bushings are captured by the stock control arm, and provide the same mounting...
Now that I have spherical bearings on my lower control arms, I can start to add caster to my 240Z.
Any thoughts on an optimal setting to start out with?
Thanks, Todd
I see that Ground Control has them.
Thanks.
Does anyone know a good source for spherical bushings for the lower front control arms on the 240Z?
Thanks,
Todd
The "correct" offset for the 'Z is 0". However, many racers also put ~3/8" spacers on the front to widen the track. So, you could safely run 3/8" outset on your rims.
Panasport UL's are great rims...
Toe:
Front = 1/16" out, Rear = 1/16" in.
Caster:
Not adjustable.
Camber:
Track dependent. Start with -2 deg all
around and dial in based on tire temps.
