It would be more effective to have a claim rule in a class like spec miata than open up the rules.
Wrapping the header will destroy it in short order for road race applications, unless it's stainless steel.
I'd get it coated, unless you get headers for dirt cheap.
I think you hit on at least part of it. If any fluid from the rear is putting force on the front pads, and you block that off, you're having the same effect as reducing the master cylinder diameter...
Then your cage is probably bent too, right? So you'll not only have to remove it from the old car, try to straighten it, install it in the new car.
Seems like a lot of work for something that won't...
It was a bolt in cage that I had welded in the old car. THen I cut it apart and put it in the new car, but realizes how stupid that was. On the good side, I had a ball doin all that welding!
Maybe...
I transfered the old Saftey Devices cage from my wrecked ITC Scirocco to an ITB 86 chassis, but don't like the way I did it.
Anyone have any recomendations for manufacturers of weld in cage kits?...
First off, get the car timed properly. getting an engine running by timing it by ear is one thing, for performance you need a timing light.
What revs is it bogging down at?
Open exhaust or stock?...
Here's a couple...
1). Sliding off track on the pace lap (Yes, you heard right, the pace lap :o ) and smacking the dirt berm with the left front, pushing it a foot to the right. There was cool...
I've always used Mobil 1 synthetic grease and never had an issue on my A1.
Maybe the races aren't installed right. Your not re-using the same races, are you?
If your oil pump was dry...
Is there a pick up tube that goes into the pump that could not be sealing right (sucking air)?
Otherwise, I'd check what drives the pump.
Good luck.
that musta been about an 8,000 rpm idle!
You realize now that you've earned money from this venture, you'll need a comercial Drivers license to tow your car to the track.
But, you can probably show a loss on your racing and be able to...
In honor of all of Greg's work with this, I vote for calling it the "G" string, by Isaac.
Depends on the equipment used. The computerized tire balancers run well short race rpm's too.
Hmmmm... interesting rules interpretation...
(note, there would be a smilie here if I could figure it out...)
I really, really can't wait!!!

Damn, this is a funny thread!!!
I had done this on my ITC Scirocco, using both front ports to the front calipers, plugged 1 rear, used the other through a knob type and tee'd to the rear. Ended up cranking the thing all the way up...
Those aren't rotary moulded cells, so there not legal.
You forgot a couple guys to state that the light bulb was a safety issue to begin with, and that's why it burnt out. It should be replaced by dual 6 gigawatt halogen fixtures, and that doesn't...
It's a safety issue, legalize 'em :wink
Why do you have your O2 sensor disconected?

I have to run the passenger seat, spare tire, #100 ballast ( + 10# mount), extra tubes everywhere plus at least a quarter tank fuel to make minimum.
You could also put in a nice heavy steel...
no. I think they're doing a good job with keeping the rules creep to a minimum, and even though some of this stuff doiesn't make sense, the line has to be drawn somewhere.
