Hi guys,
Just responding to the question of "Ram Air", as it was discussed in the forum. Back in the day, I was protested for this item in ITB. I then referred to the GCR Technical Glossary,...
Having straight straps in the front will allow the front to move sideways, due to the fact that the straps form a parallelogram. Crossed straps do not allow side to side movement.
Since the...
In general engine repair, when a head gasket "blows", it is leaking someplace, as in: From the cooling system to the outside, into the oil (ending in the crankcase), into an adjacent cylinder, or...
Incidentally, the points that I raised are the extremes in this build...you can build a good Mustang with the 7 1/2in rear, but the 6 3/4 will shed a few more pounds, again in a critical area.
...
All is predicated on lightness.
Start with the earliest model ('79-'80) notch back, preferably one with the 6 3/4 in differential housing. Strip the car completely, insulation included,...
Early Fox cars are listed on the same line from '79-'93, so all equipment from one to another can be used. "Model" refers to equipment from a different year than those listed on the same line....
As you know, the 15X7 are not legal in ITB. Incidentally, the rims I referred to are steel, 13's and very light weight. They are also very cheap. Enough to use for an experiment, too.
Good...
Manny,
We met May, 2002 in Daytona, garaged next to Marcello...Blue ITB from Buffalo, N.Y.
One solution we researched is the light weight stock car wheels, but they are only available in 13...
Let me enter the discussion one more time. Here is a possible path to solution.
Make up a jumper wire (single) with sharp pointy thing at each end (awls with alligator clamps to each), length...
I agree with all that has been written above. Any pulsating light or brake assembly (when directionals are applied) will be a reflection of a bad ground someplace, allowing a different, unwanted...
JOEG,
Did you have yours made at SSB or Classic Tube? Didn't know that SSB did custom lines, etc.
Missed you at the meeting last night. Be at the Banquet?

Thanks for the heads-up on the headers. I'm not looking to use headers at this time, due to the weight concern. I'd like to know the weight of them, if you have them off the car for any reason. ...
Ron,
I'd be very interested in the weight numbers you get, since mine was in pieces when we got it. It's repaired now, but it was stripped when it went to the shop. I hope you get the...
Ron,
Keep me in the loop if you are able to get the information.
Thanks all,
Bill
Chris,
I'm interested in the brake problems you experienced with the aluminum calipers. Did you see caliper deformation? Brake pads welded to the pistons? Was there evidence of boiled fluid...
ITR allows the cars to weigh a few pound more, so additional suspension parts may be more desireable, and less injurious to performance. For ITS, I'd think even more critically about added weight.
...
Let me chime in here, and possibly answer a few questions.
As noted, the '95 is classed in ITS. The '99-'02 is classed in ITR...but in both classes the allowed weight is probably WAY lower than...
Not runnig a VW, but I can add that I'm a believer in stock clutch parts. The only part that might be problematic is the clutch lining coming off the disc. High RPM and a riveted lining will...
Chenye,
I too am building an SN 95, 2002. Also hope to have it ready for the coming season. We should talk, to compare notes? I have had extensive experience with a Fox or two, and now will...

Handling aside for the moment, my next thought is the amount of flammables carried. I'd like to limit the amount to what is needed for the event, and ballast the rest as needed for the scales.
