Thanks... That's around where I was guessing. We have some ebay coilovers, but I haven't checked the rate.
Yep, already ran nelsons, but I was on a "works team".. Will be jumping in the Neon this year (and my LS400 probably)
Can you hook a brutha up on spring rates? - Will be running stock bars, and prolly stock tires/wheels, but will be light... Prolly 200lb lighter than IT spec, with the battery in the back.
Two ways to do it: Do what everybody else does, or learn how it all works and do some scientific experiments. First way is faster and cheaper, but you are always following somebody else, that likely...
I think it's just tradition.... sports cars don't have autos, and when created, nobody would dream of a sports car you don't shift yourself! (I still think that)
Decided to take the plunge eh? Its a good car, and fun too. TRD has a fair selection of springs in Japan. Easy answer might be to just get some of those. I think there are lots of ways to do this...
I find this really interesting that the membership will argue ad-nauseam about removing (or not going out and buying) things like washer bottles, but apparently nobody raises an eyebrow for open...
I second this too, IF it doesn't cost more money.. I like the idea of removing stuff though! From inception, I see IT as the means by which SCCA (which was (is?) a rich boys club) to let the "poor"...
I couldn't agree more strongly! WHY should IT be penalized to run this crap. These are RACE cars! The days of driving your sports car to work, then the track were OVER years ago for anybody serious,...
Why not class it "normally" then? the disadvantage in the dry gets cancelled out by the wet advantage?
I've been racing right about 20 years now, most of that in IT, and for me it mostly trying to...
Huh? Weight with driver is a "recent" rule change ain't it? When I started it was car only.
Good feedback... I have a weird problem.. Sometimes I get so relaxed racing that I lose focus. How to keep the edge up? Faster car?
Me too, and I'm "Correctly classed" in ITA... (I'm more like 2 seconds tho and can't get any lighter)
I haven't run in years, but back in the day, the Volvos kicked the crap out of most of the ITA field, not to mention the B field. How about pushing for it to run in A instead :)
My experience so far is that Lemons people - even brand new to racing - are no worse that the usual IT crowd. Most of them are more polite in fact. Best racing I've had in 17 years was 1.5 hours of...
I'll be there!
Team Toyota will be fielding two cars, a FX16 and a MR2. We've done 3 events so far, and its a good time (though we had a couple mechanicals)....
The normal method for this is really simple, and still keeps dual circuits, just not cross biased.
1. Take out the prop valve.
2. The front circuit goes from the master to a "tee" which then...
You forgot one Chuck! The E30 is a fun "24hrs of Lemons" car too! :)
Not sure I understand the comments, but good luck with everything... seems like a copy of Lemons though (You are burger king to Jay's Mcdonalds?). I've run 3 lemons and had a pretty good time....
Well, If its a Toyota, when you de-smog it, the idle hunts up and down and idles bad... Especially without the cold start circuit working as it was designed... And that's with stock cams and a stock...
why not just run 24hrs of Lemons?
IIRC, my car won ITA at the first IT Fest :)
Interesting - I've been considering how to do a open trailer to my liking too... Like the RC plane in the Garage... I'm a FW190 fan myself ;)
Are those ROTA wheels? I run the same size/offset and...
1985 Toyota Corolla GT-S. I was at minimum weight at 28yrs old, but at 44, I'm over (same car the whole time) :)
Ooo.. I forgot that one, the dumb washer bottle thingy, and TOTAL removal of heat and AC... 2nd all of those, and I STILL couldn't hit minimum weight.
