Yes and yes.
Jeff the front end is double a arm so no on the camber plates.
Be careful on the "yes" for rear camber adjustment "bushings". Technically, Jeff's right, but Denise is new to the Integra; she may misinterpret the (non-compliant) aftermarket upper adjustable rear links as "bushings". And, the only "camber plates" I'm aware of for this car are ones such as these, which are based on modified stock upper arms and are also non-compliant in IT.
However, anything that replaces just the bushings and makes no mods to the arms (except for spot welds) is compliant. There's a guy on RRAX, handle "chris", that makes a nice set of sphericals for the car. I'm running his stuff on the STL Integra, good quality and a decent price.
Denise, you need to come over to my house with a 6-pack and we'll walk you through the Integra chassis with it on the lift. I can give you a good overview of the car and point out what may be compliant and non-compliant in IT. Other good sources for this info is Tim Klvana and Geoff Branscombe.
GA
Denise, Greg is correct. If it's easier, I can stop by upstate on my way to Saratoga Friday or on the way down to NYC on Sunday and go over the car as well. Mickey
Mickey and Greg,
Your input would be invaluable at this point!
We are getting roll cage work done right now and the car should be home next Sunday. After that we need to rework all suspension and then exhaust before April. The only car we have any knowledge on, and that was trial and error, is the escort which is all out the window now! We are trying to form a shopping list based on priority and financial responsibility.
That is why the questions are starting...
Where do you live Greg?
Denise
South of Hartford...
Looks like I should leave the Acura build advice to the experts - I ASSumed that the car had front struts, sorry guys. Yes, if double wishbone then camber plates are a no-no.
Yep, good (and accurate) info here. :)
Another +1 for the sphericals from Chris Brinson (kingpinmachine.com).
Christian
Jeff, jeff, Jeff, LOL. Honda double wishbones! They were a mainstay of the Honda line up for years. Honda fanbois are leaving the club in droves now, lamenting Hondas corporate switch to cheaper (and worse) suspension designs. The double wishbone is the rallying cry.
Even late-model acuras typically have DW fronts. So, I guess we (Honda/Acura racers) have some options, though typically more up front $ for late models.
The Integra's last year was 01. Their replacement (the RSX) has some of the shittiest design work to come out of Honda.
The Civic went to struts about 10 years ago too.
Not any new Hondas out there with the same mojo as the old ones...
Christian
Greg, Mickey, Jake I also will be driving an Acura this season and would appreciate any
training or info you have.
I would also like to partake of the "afternoon beer/suspension schooling" offer.
C'mon over any time...
Gee Mickey, I didn't get an offer like that.....
Why dont one of you just buy Ray Lee Chee's Integra, proven car and then he can go get another RX7.
And lose to me yet again HAHAHAHAHA:dead_horse:
Yes its self serving but we need more cars in IT7
You are BOTH switching to Honda?! Wow, y'all really did throw the Escorts out the window!
Wow, Harsh Mr Lawton...Glad I didn't buy Geoff's car!!!:)
Waaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiit! What??? Noooooo, car is not for sale. The struts will be soon though(for those who are shopping)
Lay off that bad juju man. You are as confused as a cow on astro turf.:D
Yes its self serving but we need more cars in IT7[/quote]
Goeff's car is top shelf. That was a good buy.:023:
....and this is my first post on here in a very long time:happy204:
I thought dano went prod fishing?
Ok guys: where did the fords go?
And one new car is branscombs acura. Whats the other?
From my perspective "learning" to drive my TEG had its' "curves". Coming from a slower class "C" car presented it's challenges. I hated my car when I first started competing in "A". My advice - go slow to get fast. I started to smile after my third or fourth event - take your time, it will pay dividends later. You don't have to justify your car to anyone except yourself - all the teasing aside the "kill stickers" will come - be patient.
It was Chip's a mohud guy from delmar, NY

Jeebus. Started at $7K, then worked his way down to asking $3900.
That's short money for a pretty decent car! (and who knows what the actual sale price was!)
yea, buy, don't build!
Because $3900 is what it was worth. It was a good looking chassis, but that car had nothing else going for it. Will take a lot more money to get it anywhere close to a top-notch Integra. Engine, tranny, cage, shocks, springs, bars, bushings etc all need completely re-done or replaced. But, the Integra is a known quantity at least, and these things can all be had without too much fuss - just takes money. It's a good starter car, to get an ass in the seat and on the track gaining experience, but that's why it went for a starter car price.
You are exactly right! Cage just got completely redone and made legal!
Brakes, rotors, clutch and bushings are here and the list to order gets bigger by the day! We are currently gathering information from the people 'in the know' regarding suspension and the exhaust is almost non-existent!
As far as 'where are the Fords', I might be starting the season in mine due to the time and money needed to get the Teg ready!
We are trying to remember the "take it slow to go fast" advice, any helpful hints are priceless!
1991 Integra LS from 1991 Ford Escort GT!
Dano is going Prod Racing as soon as his boss lets him. Thats the tough part when you become self employed.
But The car is still in IT7 Trim as I cant seem to find the ambition to get to work on it yet. May show up at a regional or 2,or a Hillclimb,or Rally NY Tarmac event. Lots to do,yet no money to do it all yet.
