And I was forced over the curbing several times when attempting to over take a car I came up on, but was stuck behind for several laps, Even with repeated overlaps he slammed the door on me. Once I got by, the video of a following car shows the gap grows by seconds a lap.
I think most will agree that if you are being lapped, move over. And if a faster car approaches, there is little point in keeping him back. Move over at a convenient spot, and try following.
