Leaving for the track in a couple hours... see you in the AM at registration!
My car broke - bad halfshaft. Here's some video from the race! It started out dry and got pretty wet in the last 5-10 minutes. Great drive by Rob Thiele to win it - and I think that clinches the championship for him. Dan made a great drive after a second lap slide in T1 he fell to fifth, then sixth and fought back for a strong second place finish. Tyler Munroe was third, Rob Nimkoff fourth. In ITS it was Autotechnic first and second - couldn't tell if it was Rob or Jeff. John Hainsworth third, not sure after that. Haven't seen a sheet. Don't know about ITA. It was great to see Eric King out with his ITS RX7!
This was a tough weekend - hard not to go out and race after a decent third qualifying effort. Also ran afoul of the tech shed - my car was too low and I was penalized my best qualifying time. Wil need to raise the car or hopefully get my race wheels back from repair and see if the car was setup correctly to those wheels.
Nice job - Pro IT was the best race of the day. Thanks to our sponsor, Treadzone.

Ben we really missed you out there even though I might have been 3rd instead of 2nd but you called it right and the reason I spun in turn 1 was that I did lose 4th gear. Just my luck, it didn't the tranny didn't take a crap at the middle or end of the race it had to be 2nd lap! I worked my A#@ off in that race just using 3rd & 5th gears! Man is Pocono bumpy and is my last race there unless it's completely repaired!
Again congrats to Rob Thiele for the win and Tyler Munroe for 3rd, Rob Nimkoff & the Autotech guys for the good clean racing. Thanks to Treadzone & Team DI!
I had a fantastic and exciting race. I had low expectations because of the track, but the competitors made the race extremely fun. I just wanted to thank all the SM guys for racing clean, the ITR and ITS guys for making their passes clean when they lapped us, and flatout for providing another fabulous rental!
I'll chop together a highlight video and post it soon
So sorry for the axle issue, Ben, it would have been way more fun with you! Thanks a lot for the videos!!
Also Dan, sorry for the mishap / great result under those circumstances! Good job by everyone fighting clean and no issues lapping. Special thanks to the black Miata for letting me pass in T3 (not sure who the driver was?). Great move, appreciate it!
Good times! Pocono was... challenging. Someone please remind to soften up the shocks even more next time I am there. I loved mixing it up with Marc and Stephen. I hate the elbow, love the chicane.

Terry
Jake, Matt Rooke broke a front strut there as well and wasn't able to complete the race and while following Jeff Henderson through the tunnel turn his car hit the transition bump and the whole ass end of the car became airborne! His rear bumper cover was as high as my windshield! I believe there is a correlation between the poor track conditions and Ben's halfshaft at least in part.
I was looking over my car last night and thinking it's a good thing that I had the old stock rims on it. Wonder if Pocono caused my four lightwieght rims to crack. I noticed the cracks at the next event at NJMP.
Halfshaft very well could have been from the rough track but I did have a mild slide into the grass on the second lap that could have caused it. Didn't hit anything or run over big bumps.
As much as I like the high speed at Pocono - its just BS the way the track leaves the sports car configuration in such crappy condition. The track attitude still sucks. Case in point - my car was on jack stands on the pavement, granted maybe 5 feet from the dirt. The track was going to drag the car off the jack stands and deposit it in the grass 20 yards away. Not kidding, they had a wrecker there. Butch and Darrel saved my car by talking them out of it. I was trying to find parts (or being a total track whore, rent any ITR car I could find!). The reason - parked in a fire zone. No one F***king sign anywhere....
I've never said it before but maybe time to skip that place...
I've never seen so many cars with flat tires - including myself.
Does anyone have a copy of the final results?
I also took some heat for blocking the (unmarked) firelane as well on Saturday...
I can deal with the bumpy asphalt, but the SAFER barrier bumps are totally unacceptable. I definitly will not be going back if those are in the middle of the racing line. I am fairly certain I blew out my front shocks this weekend during qualifying going over those things, and from the sound of it I got lucky if thats all the damage the car took from the track (I am ignoring my other 'incident' in this conversation's damage assessment).

Pocono is for Nascar. IMO. Save your cars for real tracks, NJMP. LRP. The Glen, VIR, RA. Summit Point.
What ever happened to the final results they are MIA?
They usually get posted by Thursday afternoon on NESCCA.com.
