Help with choosing fuel system.....

Hey people,

An IT racer friend of mine pointed out this site as possible help figuring out my VW fuel system.

For a little background, I'm not an IT racer but a rally driver. I have a 1983 Rabbit that was originally fitted with a OEM Carb (Carter-Weber). I killed it at the last rally.

So, I decided to upgrade to fuel injection, digifant off a 1989 jetta to be exact. So I transplanted the entire electrical system already and the fuel tank.... BUT, the rabbit doesn't have room for the rear fuel pump off an A2 jetta.

So, I was hoping if you guys could help me figure out what direction to take. Should I try and fit some sort of digifant OEM pump or upgrade to an aftermarket pump (like something from the summit racing catalog).

And if you recommend an aftermarket pump, could you recommend something specific? And with an aftermarket pump, would I still need a fuel accumlator of some sort???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
