You need a TransX260 for SCCA racing. The 160 is used for Kart racing as in go carts.

Also keep in mind that there are 2 versions: hardwired and battery powered. We are using the 260 hardwired mounted inside the passenger front splash shield where the airbox resonator used to be. I did cut a very small opening even tho they say you do not have to.

I saw on the website (amb) that the 160 was good for uses upto 160kmh and the 260 for 260kmh.
I had checked on ebay the other day and all I found was the 160. I never noticed a model number on the ones I have used but they were always red.
Is that the visual difference between the 160(yellow) and 260(red)?
Any regions out there selling them to non-members for less than $250(rechargeable).
How about retailers?
The car that I race doesn't have a charging system. It also has a very small battery so the fewer devices I run off it the better. (even if the current is only 50mA).
