Central Carolina Region (CCR) is hosting its annual “Fall Festival” at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw South Carolina on October 15th and 16th
Our hope is to continue the racing season beyond our June event at Lowes, while giving road racers who want some more track time, and a chance to tune their cars before the ARRC. Our goal is to provide as much track time as inexpensively as possible for those looking for seat time. Our hope is that everyone will find this a challenging and rewarding event to attend. We want everyone to have fun.
CCR is planning a different kind of Race weekend, implementing a new format just for this Event. Drivers will compete in two heats. The first heat will determine the starting position for the second heat. The accumulation of points from these two heats will determine the starting position for the final Race on Sunday. Each car may have as many as three drivers, with each driver contributing to the Car’s Total Points. The Car with most points in its group wins. The result could be three different winners, Plus an overall weekend winner by group. A Car need not win an event to be the overall weekend winner.
CCR has a special surprise this weekend for the competitors. Instead of Trophies, those who earn the most points, as in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, based on the number of cars in their group get a CASH payout. An early CCR Halloween present to the best overall performers.
The October date should provide comfortable weekend, with Sunny sky’s and afternoon highs in the mid 80’s. The drive to Kershaw should be beautiful in mid-October with the "Fall Colors" getting into full swing.
