Thank you, thank you Dick Patullo and everyone who has made this happen.
i propose we have a naming contest for the various parts of the track.
I've already head "No Balls Hill" proposed by a limited horsepower driver for that long uphill.
We want to place a sign saying "scenic overlook" right near the top, and put one of those pay binocular thingies up there.

My post from another forum:

After driving this track and looking over the map...this track needs some corner names. "T1"? "T3"? Yawn....here's my suggestions. And yes, some are blatant rip-offs, so screw you.

http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com/TrackMaps.aspx?Map=0

T1: Faster than you think, a nice "yump!" corner that's going to catch a lot off-guard. Not very creative, but I call it "Flugplatz".
T2: Not really a corner. We'll call it..."T2".
T3: Nice faster downhill sweeper, easy flat for probably everyone but enough of a visual to make some wonder...Fuchsröhre.
T4: late apex, far left entry...Aremberg.
T5: Really late apex that's going to catch more than one car off-line...and into the Aarmco on exit: Bergwerk.
T6: Deceptively normal-apex climber but you're afraid to trust it because of that last corner you almost hit the Aarmco on...Klettern wiederum.
The straight between T6 and T7: Skyline Drive.
T7: Another really-late-apex right leading into a wickedly-late diving left turn...Geduld.
T8: That wickedly-late apex, diving, decreasing radius left turn that will send the impatient sluicing into the exit Aarmco: The Aqualoop. If too obtuse, Spirale. If you want more obtuse, the Fibonacci.
T9: Heading into the horizon, way up high, with only late points of visual reference...Schwalbenschwanz (translate it).
T10: Late apex downhill right-hander, very much like driving NHMS in reverse...Karussell.
T11/12: Really late apex right into a spiraling late apex left...Wehrseifen.
T13 exit, through T14/15: Not quite the significant grade as the original, but still a total-lack-of-visuals, trust-the-road-is-still-there butt-clencher, taken on timing and feel...Korkenzieher.
Exit of T15 through T1...NER Straight, Palmer Gerade, or reserve it to be named after someone truly worthy.

A once popular tradition now abandoned might be appropriate. Name the corner after the first driver to go off and not be able to continue. Think Arendts at Bridgehampton.

during the early days of the project Nathan Gardella (our then Treasurer) said the Palmer the town was named after was a famous judge and thus we should find one real hard corner and call it "the judge".

The one I call "Bergwerk" is because of the corner at the Nurburgring for which it is named. That was a corner that almost cost me a car. It's a blind corner and initially appears to open up, and then you get into it and realize you read it completely wrong.

I figured "Oh S**t!" probably wouldn't be acceptable to print on a map of the track.

On the 914 forum there's a guy with a handle of "roblav1 (http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=14943)" (no proper name listed in sig) that made the following comments in response to my post:

"There is a corkscrew - I call it Fred's corkscrew"

"T7 was changed from my original drawing because of a couple ferns found where I drew the track... "wetlands". That was originally straighter. The name ought to have something to do with that.

"T8 is my favorite corner. I called it the "Archimedes screw"."

but what if I claim two (or more) that way?

My plan is to not race there until all of the corners have been named.

The uphill hairpin right turn (T5?) we named in our video "The Kanc" after the Kancamangus Highway in NH... It instantly reminded Tim, Stephen and I of that road...

If you want to name a turn "The Judge" I vote the last set of turns coming onto the front straight, specifically the last right apex! It will be one of the most important set of turns on this track!

the long left turn after you reach the top of the mountain reminds me of a spiral... Or a screw as others have mentioned!

the one thing this track needs is a chairlift to a viewing area from a paddock located the top of the mountain!!!

I dunno Ray. "The Kanc" sounds like a cold sore to me.

Just saw the video, wow.

From day one, I had a feeling this track has potential to be one of the most unique race tracks in the world. It's like Laguna Seca and Bathurst combined, with some Watkins Glen on top of that. Very, very cool.
