adding tow hooks/ tie downs

I'm having poor internet connections today and can't download the IT rulebook. Can I add 2 tow hooks/tie downs to the subframe of a miata? The car didn't come to me with factory tied owns in the rear and I'm looking for a better way. Any help is appreciated.

Not only can you, you're required to.

The MazdaComp ones (or similar) bolt on and work well as tie-downs.

HAving owned and towed way too many Miatas, get the OEM ones, they are by far the best and easiest to work with.
I generally buy a 1/2" D ring, (Harbor Freight $4.99), cut off one loop and weld on the D-ring.
