New England Region Road Racing is introducing an innovative concept for drivers age 55 and older, the Masters Cup. This new end of the year championship is exclusive in the NERRC Series.
The Masters Cup is an end of season award presented to the competitors who are 55 or older and have accumulated the most points in their class during the NERRC race season. The best 10 NERRC races, out of a possible 14, will be counted.
Two champions, one from the close wheel and one from the open wheel division will be crowned. Trophies will also be presented to 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
Tie breaker - Age will be the tie breaker; the oldest driver will be the winner.
To be eligible for the Masters Cup:
1- Driver must be 55years old before January 1 of the current year.
2- Competitors must register with NER Registration once during the season and show official proof of age.
3- Select one class only; this class will remain the only eligible class during the season.
Race groups are divided into two divisions:
Closed Wheels: All IT, GT, Production, All SM, Showrooms stock, AS, B Spec, all Touring,
Open Wheels: All open wheel classes plus Sport Racers and SRF.
Point structure:
