I bought a vinyl cutter for one of our crew a few years ago and he's been keeping a number of us SE racers in graphics. However he moved away and I don't have access to vinyl services any longer.

I'm looking to buy a basic cheap unit like I did some years ago. I remember spending about $300 on the old unit and it did everything that we needed it to do while only costing maybe 2x what one of our graphics jobs costs from a vendor. Over the years the flexibility and savings more than makes it worthwhile to just own a unit.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good unit with reasonable Windows software?

I have one from JSI Sign systems. Cheap and the software is great to use. Lot's of options including vectorization! I make all my own stuff for the same reasons you mentioned. I also make them for FREE to anyone local as long as they purchase the roll of vinyl needed for the job. (About $30 bucks usually.)

I think I'd like to be able to do stuff larger than 8". 24" seems to be a good size but one does pay a bit for it. Any other suggestions?

My numbers are generally two feet high. Corner workers dig it.

Roof, sides, big skull.

I suppose I could piece them together but it is really easy cut one, put on the backing sheet, then apply it all in one piece.

Anyone have one of these??
The phone # actually goes to a person that speaks english and takes time to answer questions about the product. That right there is a good thing for me.
The 31 in is 399$ with the software.

Looks like $289 and a smoking deal. It appears to have the same software as the little one. I should by it up and start putting graphics on.

And I did all the graphics on the other car in this pic with a Roland P1000 18" that I paid $250 for (used) 8 years ago. My only advice Ron is get something that has some speed to it...and maybe go with 18" numbers.:D
