I just received my Novice Permit in the mail and it looks like my car will ready.

Is anyone else going to be there?

I'm planning on running the Friday test and tune.

I did that double school last year...it was great! Tons of track time!

I'll be there for the test and tune as well. I'll be sure and say hello. I'm hoping that everything goes smoothly. I do not want to have to thrash on the car at the school (or the test and tune).

I'm still trying to work my schedule to make it. If I come, I'll bring the SM/ITA car to "rent out if needed". Always a GREAT weekend! Good luck to everyone - HAVE FUN, BE SAFE and HAVE FUN!

Ill be there instructing.

It always is a great weekend with A LOT of track time! Last year was perfect because it rained on Saturday and was dry on Sunday. Good for practice in different situations. However, hopefully it will be warmer than last year because it was VERY cold.

Looking forward to seeing you all there! :D

And Matt - Ill rent that Miata from you. Half the comedy would be seeing me trying to fit in it :p

I REALLY hope I don't end up needing to rent an "as-needed" SM/ITA car. That would mean that terrible things have happened somewhere along the line.

But, I'm glad you will be there "just in case." The worst thing possible would be not getting the license.

WOR is waiving the late fee for WOR Games, which kicks in on May 7, for all the GLDiv Driver School Novice Permit holders. Didn't seem fair to hit you with a late fee when you haven't even finished the school.

Get your school completed May 7-8, then get your two races done just two weeks later at Mid-Ohio on May 21-22.

Good luck to WOR's own Simon Ward, who will be at school in the ITB Mustang he built last year.

As of now - not looking like I'll make it. Work is busy and I've got to get my Civic back together for the WOR games. All new parts are here, so assembly time!

Good luck all! Be Safe and get those novice permits!

Chatted with the registrar for the school last night and she indicated that there were about 20 folks participating in the open wheel class, but only about 3 folks registered thus far in the closed wheel class.

Closed wheel folks will have plenty to keep it interesting. The open wheel folks may get a little lonely . . .

Considering the ecomomy, I guess 23 entrants isnt too bad. The weather looks like it will be okay for the weekend. This rain just needs to stop so the infield doesnt become a lake!:o

Confused...did you mean 20 closed wheel cars?

I will be there in a ITA CRX. And then be at the WOR games two weeks later! :eclipsee_steering:

Yes, 20 closed wheel cars. And 3 open wheel.

Thought so...even back in the day of large subscriptions at driver schools, the open-wheelers were in a distinct minority.

Aside from the last race my weekend went very well. Last race on Sunday I managed to screw up the start and put the car off into a mud hole off of 13

Hope to see people at WOR games.

The students did a very good job on Sunday. The 10 lap race (which was inverted, fastest car to the back, slowest to the front) provided for some great racing. It is amazing what they learned from the first session on Saturday until the end of the day Sunday. Kudos to all.

There will be a few students attending the WOR games at Mid-Ohio May 20-22. I plan on doing a track walk either Friday or Saturday night with Sean and Phil. If you attended the drivers school and plan to run Mid-Ohio, get in contact with me. Id love to have more novices join us on the track walk!

Greg, Be sure to grab Downing for that track walk. He needs all the help he can get. :D :p

Sad but true!! But i'll be in no condition for a track walk by the time the test-n-tune session is over Friday night! And if I did go, I'm sure someone would hit me on the back straight...

I'll be up on Thursday evening and instructing the PDX on Friday. I'll be up in the grass (way out) so everyone be sure to stop up and say hi! Looking forward to meeting new people and seeing old friends!

Id have to carry Matt along for the track walk while he has a beer in each hand. He is about as big as I am though, so that would kinda be a long 2.5 miles!

You all know me too well! :cavallo:

If I'm back from Dinner on Friday night, I'll go on that walk. Haven't been out for a track walk in a few years @ Mid-Ohio. If it ends up being Sat., that will (should) work as well. If anyone is planning to be at the track on Thursday evening, we are planning a trip to Bucks for dinner and drinks.

We're planning on being there Thursday night. Bucks is a maybe depending on how early we get there and how things are going.
