Looking for advice concerning a failed oil injection pump on an 89 RX7. One of the stepper motor coils has opened, and the computer is going into limp mode. Was rather shocked at the $1300 price from Mazdaspeed, and have seen some people talking about mixing 2-cycle oil in the fuel tank but then would need to somehow fool the computer to keep it out of limp mode.
The car is primarily driven to and from track days, with an occasional autocross.
Want to keep the car reliable, but want to make sure there is not a good alternative to an expensive replacement. Was wondering what are the IT racer's doing?
