I'll be doing a pre-Runoffs shake down with the FP car Friday night, and then racing our new ITB Civic DX throughout the weekend. I'm doing quite a bit of work to both cars right now, so hopefully we'll see some good pace. This will be my first ever ITB race, so it would be great to see some other B cars out there!

I'll enter my ITA Civic in ITB, but you will still beat me...

Car getting back from the repair shop after having the timing redone. Will let you know how it sounds!

Sounds even better than before! Can't wait to get a timing light on it to really fine tune the ignition.

I won't lie, I kind of wish ITB was in the same run group as ITA. :eclipsee_steering:

I'm happy it is not (for several reasons and 'that' reason is one of them!!!). Should be a great weekend - Any weekend at the track is better than a weekend NOT at the track!!!

Haha - Awww, come on! It would be interesting to see, wouldn't it? :D

Ugh, this means I'm in Group 1. Oh well, at least I'll get home early. Pimpy new parts showed up yesterday for the ITB DX. Gotta get this thing going around corners! :happy204:

You guys run ITR with AS ,T cars, GT cars and ITE. No way! I have sustain so much body damage running with that group. I won't run with the big bore and either will a lot of other people I know.

And how many AS, T and GT cars do you think show up at a Regional? The ones that do are regional cars and the class works. Running with ITE - Sorry... Fast ITR cars shouldn't be bothered by ITE cars. They will either blow by you or you will blow by them. That group is a good size and (for the most part) should stay out of each others way. Sorry you don't like it. Where would you suggest ITR run? With ITS? With another IT class? ITR is still too new IMHO and has cars that run crazy different times. Sorry you won't be attending - you (and the others who chose not to come) will miss a great event!

Enought for about $3,000.00 worth of body damage:(, and it wasn't my fault and I have witnesses:). Myself and others have had the same problems at other tracks that group these cars together. Also the Group that holds the Mid Ohio event in Oct. has the same grouping. It's not for me to tell you how to run your region I'm sure you have some smart people out there. I'm telling you out of courtsey that's all. Do with the info what you will.

OVR does the Sept. and Oct. races at Mid-Ohio (that is why you see the same groups). Running so many classes in a weekend forces the sharing of the track between groups. Setting groupings is a very difficult task. Trying to set the groups to not over-subscribe a race AND to try to match groups that can be on track together... Difficult to make everyone happy.

Damage can happen (and does from time to time). Sometimes it is in-class and sometimes it is out of class. Hate to say "stuff happens" but it does. I've been taken out by someone from another class and it does suck. But if I want to ONLY run with my class, I can run IT-Fest and the ARRC (and then still run with another IT group).

Sorry you won't be there in Sept or Oct. Going to be a great weekend. You might watch the entry and decide that there aren't that many cars you don't like to run with in your group and reconsider. :)

Officially signed up in ITB. Will probably sign up for the Handicap race at the track too, given weather conditions.

Well, lets see...I've been hit by SM's, T2's, AS & a GT1. Ya know, I've never been hit by a ITR car until this year .:(

I'll keep an open mind and see what's running, or maybe I'll do VIR, we'll see.B)

At the IT Fest, 5 of us in ITR were within four seconds of each other. One other car was a bit off the pace a couple of times. And we were racing 5 different marques. I don't call that "crazy different times."

The class has tightened up in the last year. As it continues to grow, new entrants will be bringing in cars that are competitive, because they are watching the current progression of ITR and will build cars that they know will be fast...

By the way, I personally don't mind running with ground pounders. I did at VIR and it was awesome watching them rocket by on that 3,000-ft. back straightaway.

I would love to race, but the car needs new hubs, and I dont have the time to change them at school. How do I instruct the PDX? I've never driven at Mid-Ohio, but I could probably catch on enough after a few laps. I instruct with the WDC region, and I'd really like to instruct at Mid-Ohio, especially since where my school is is the most boring place on earth.

If this weather forecast holds, Mid Ohio is going to be stupid fast this weekend!

No doubt..last I saw it was supposed to be 68 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday. This is perfect racing weather!

Weather was great at MO this weekend! Racing was even better! Kind of chilly at night, and the wind was a bear with tentage. Hope everyone got home safe.

Temps were nice, but that wind was a killer.

Water on the track wasn't much fun either.

I had a blast driving the ITB Civic DX! What a fun, fun car to drive! Has the tossability and momentum traits of an ITC car, but with a little bit more power. Uses hardly any tires, brakes, or fuel. Real happy to hit a 1:46.4 on the pro course on Sunday, and have no doubt in my mind I could've got it into the 1:47's on the club course had we ran that on Sunday.

Okay, this might seem a little geeky to the more jaded of you but this might be my only chance to post something like this:

COURSE RECORD - This certifies that Jim Hardesty set a ITC course record on September 5, 2010 of 1:49.184 (min:sec) at 73.256 mph average speed MID OHIO Road Course 2.25 mile course

0:08 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) Seems like I turned in pretty early for turn 1.
0:26 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) Nice late braking into the keyhole, that's about the best I can do the keyhole.
0:53 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) Jumped the curb in 7, I'm surprised that isn't slow.
1:05 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) Jumped the curb in 9 too.
1:11 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) Traffic, pass the Mustand on the outside in 10? It sounds like I don't lift.
1:18 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) Early turn in to Thunder Valley, but it must work, I shift at the bridge, a full second earlier than usual.
1:32 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) No lift in the left hander
1:38 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXGK3LZ0p0#) That seems early and tight in the carousel.
Somehow it all works.
