Greetings,

I am the fourth owner of an 84 Scirocco with unknown brand of spherical bearings for the lower control arms... ...they are tack welded in and are in need of replacement.

Any ideas on where I might be able to source replacements?

Thank you.

chances are they are from Shine Racing. If you can take off the circlip and take out the bearing, you can measure it and buy a replacement.

If you need help just post the dimensions and I can help.

After you size it, a local bearing vendor or online will do.

Almost all types of bearing come in standard sizes. Almost. Except the one that I need that was special made and now out of production. ;)

That being said if you can get it out, which you need to do anyway, simply measure the OD, ID and thickness and you should fid it using Google.

If you go to a local bearing shop, DO NOT tell them it is a race car part!!! Tell them that is a part for an industrial machine....or go to Mcmaster.com and find what you need. CB
