Looking over suit options and I was curious what the various race suits weigh. Please include the brand, style, size, and of course weight.

So what brand, style and size is your ballast suit?

LOL...I wish...

I have a Sparco Ultrasomething. Bought it in January of 07, so this is going to be its 4th season. Still in great shape and very light -- much better than the cheap-o OMP I started with.

I think spending $800 to $1,000 on a good suit (if you can afford it) is worth the money in terms of comfort, etc.

I have a RaceQup 3 layer custom Nomex, 3-2A/5 suit that weighs 3.5-4 lbs. That's without shoes, and socks and the nomex undies and gloves, head pot and head sock.

I have two.
The Sparco Tech 5 (all around use) known as "ol faithful" is 3.78 pounds.
The Sparco X-light (Sunday Suit) is 3.0 pounds.
Both are 3 layer FIA/ SFI 5.
Both are size 60 (euro sizing).

cheers

Is it probable that the built in cup weighs 20 pounds?

TeamDI's Evo 2 Three layer weighs 3.8lbs in size 60.

TeamDI also makes a custom 2 Layer thats around 3 lbs, same SFI rating, with a TPP rating only 17% less than the 3 layer. 2 layers TPP rating is also over 13% higher than whats required for the SFI 3.2A/5 rating.

Yea, but IF the suit gained 2 pounds, you LOST that and a couple more...
