Evelyn Wood version of my issues...
Purchased car from Las Vegas to be shipped to Spooner, WI
Quoted $650 to my door by http://z-best-transport.com/ on 10/19/09.
Three months later the quote is now $750 and dropped off 100 miles from my home.
Anyone have any alternatives (other than telling this clown to go pound sand)?
Thanks,
Greg Amy

What Greg said, we've had good experience with them,----and tell the others to go pound sand, amoung other things.

I've got something posted on Uship as well. Seems like a good source. Will book something in the next week.

Can you wait until the end of the month ? Got a friend in PA taking a trailer to Nevada, then to the SCCA Convention, could take your car to WI. He races an HP Rabbit.

Tried to use Uship to bring a car back from western Arizona to Torrington ,Ct..the quotes were so high that I finally used a standby rate from Intercity that was half of what I got quoted on Uship!

What's nice about uship is you put your requirements up for bid, you're not required to accept any of the bids.

That is true.
However, what I am finding is that once you add Uship's "auction fee", the price seems to be higher than it would if you were to call and book directly with a given shipper.
I've called a few shippers listed on this site:
http://www.transportreviews.com/
and have found pretty competitive prices w/o the auction fee.

I'm finding the same thing... ...the "bids" are almost making the idea of getting it myself seem reasonable.

I've used InterCity Lines; very happy with their service.
I've used brokers obtained via uSHIP, very happy with the service.
I've had cars, parts, and various other oddities transported via the Sandbox Express; very happy with the service.
Point being, there are many opportunities out there, don't focus on just one...

.
Intercity sponsors my GT40s.com website. Give them a call and tell them GT40s.com sent you and they are supposed to give a bit of a discount:

Maybe that will help a bit.
