Lots of memories for lots of people here, I would imagine. I recall the Hacker bros showing up for the Golf Cup race at Seattle with a three-car open trailer, covered with VWs (1985, maybe?). It looked like something out of Junkyard Wars. He won, as I recall.

Wow...what a record! I guess what he did for Randy Pobst says it all about the man. RIP at LRP, Paul.

Wow, sad news indeed. I remember drooling over the stuff the Hackers were doing when I got my first Rabbit GTI. There were plenty of cool tricks that showed up in Greg Raven's book. Saw them race in the Golf Cup race in '85. It was a support race for the Camel Continental at Pocono that year.

RIP Paul, and thanks for all you did for VW racing!
