Dear Club members,
Our Race Against Leukemia is NER’s primary philanthropic effort for the year, which was inspired years ago (~20) to support a Club member whose child was battling leukemia. Each year our funds go to the UMass Memorial Foundation to support other children with leukemia and other forms of cancer. Its our way of supporting premier cancer center in our area that is saving lives and helping families. This year we have decided to use UMass’s Firstgiving program to facilitate fund raising.
We want to encourage club members/teams to create their own web-page, set a goal and perhaps have an interest in tracking the giving. This is done by clicking on the line “I want to raise money too” on the generic webpage www(dot)firstgiving.com/nerral (http://www.firstgiving.com/nerral) . This has been a tough year for most of us, but lets do what we can for this worthy cause. Regards, Doug Fisher
In previous years drivers/teams 'competed' in the fundraiser - to be the one to come in first with the most contributions raised. It would be great to see that again this year.
There are two other ways to contribute to the club’s fundraising efforts: Pledge sheets and Donor receipts can be printed from the NER website (if you don’t want to use the online system) at www(dot)ner.org/region/racing-against-leukemia (http://www.ner.org/region/racing-against-leukemia). There’s also a list of all the events being held that weekend – Rally, Solo, RallyCross, Enduro and Regional Races)
Also items can be donated for the raffle being held at the track; just let us know ahead of time of the item so we can add it to the list – gift cards, racing stuff, etc. Thanks, Marilyn Freeman
