I run an automotive service shop, and don't usually have a lot to do with VW, so I thought I would come to the experts. A customer of mine with other stuff I do work on has a 92 2 door Jetta, 8 valve, no sunroof, no A/C. It also has no coolant, no timing belt tensioner and no lower door hinge on the drivers side, so she is trying to figure out whether to drop a couple of bucks into it, or just drop it. It is, to my mid-western eye, quite rust free. There is a British Columbia inspection sticker faded on the dash, so it came from a fairly rust free zone.

Is this thing useless, desireable, the holy grail.... and whats it worth as a roller?

Some of the kids really dig the A2 Jetta coupe (actually I do too). It would probably go between $500-$1000 in the classifieds at the vwvortex.com discussion forums. The rust it has will be in the rear and sides of the passenger footwell area.

Cameron Conover would love it but it's not very handy to him...
