steering hub q's

What would you guys suggest one do if the stock steering shaft stub is 1in and the available quick release hub is for 3/4in. I thought of welding a piece of round stock to the inside hollow of the stock shaft then adapting that to the quick disconnect stub. Any thoughts?

Yeah, we ended up having to sleeve our steering shaft in much the same way. Also helped get the steering wheel closer to the driver without a big funky spacer...
