Hello all,

I have a 1996 vw golf with the Vr6 engine.(would be an ITS car) And i have 15x6.5 wheels because i cannot afford the buy new 15x7 wheels. So my question is should i stick with the recommended 205 50 15? or will i be better off putting 225 50 15 on them?

I have not had it on a course yet but i plan on starting next season. And the vr6 engine to me seems to have a bit of torque going through the front wheels, thats why im thinking about the 225 tires.

I know the 225 are possible on 6.5 from searching around but im trying to figure out if it would really be a big performance differance in my situation. On the other hand maybe just stick with the 205 for now because im gonna go through them anyways because im just starting out.

Thanx guys!

we autocross a rx-7 using our takeoff (its) 225-45-15s on a set 15 x 6 1/2" wheels.we also do pdxs & track days. if you have the clearance , race them ! the rims will work.
