Are most people running their exhaust under or over the rear axle?

Just far enough back to meet the rules, then a 90* turn down.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be about the Great Toilet Paper Controversy.

That's "fold, roll, or wad."

Priss!

Wad it up, scoop it out.....

And side exhaust, tuned length using that Header design program.

I clicked on it because I thought it was some sort of inane question about shotguns.

Alright nerds, thanks for the help.

Anyone with a 2nd Gen Rx-7 have any input?

1st gen under.

(And oddly, that's the second time today I've been asked that question, and I can't remember the time before that...weird)

Under. A 3" pipe won't fit going over the axle.

Where the pipe goes under the subframe will be the low point on the car, be prepared to replace it often :)

1st gen 3" over, and yeah, it's tight.

Same here. Little irritating in a dusty paddock space. I don't have to worry what side of the track sound is working

The 2nd gen answer.

Ok, thanks!

Here's a quick follow-up. PRACTICALLY speaking, is it worth it to re-tune the ECU when going from one kind of high-flow exhaust to another?

I'm not talking full-stock with cats and small pipe to full-race exhaust.

I know this is percentages, and I'll probably do it anyway, but it seems unlikely to me that the maps could change that much. Anyone have experience with this?
