A continuous soap opera...

On one hand you want the engineering and technical advances, but on teh other you want to restrict the money to develop the technologies.

I don't like it one bit.

I was so excited that a "team US" was joining the mix in 2010... felt like i would finally have a team to root for. Now it seems like only force india, williams and these new small teams are sticking to "F1" as we know it and everyone else who actually matters is forming this new thing.

Dont know which one i would watch!

I think it's all "dick fencing" I'll bet (hope) they work something out.

I'm English and am hard wired to watch F1. Just watched practice from Silverstone.

But I yern for the days of six wheeled Tyrrells and Lotus 78's When the cars actually looked different!

It might be interesting to open up the rules and give them a budget cap, here's 100 mil, see haw fast you can go on that!!

it would be cool with that kind of diversity. Not that im opposed to a budget cap because it gives smaller teams a chance to compete but wouldent it be terribly hard to regulate and enforce?

Maybe the new series won't be boring.

I did not think that the IRL would had evolved to swash and replace the CART series when Tony George formed it (of course he had the INDY track, and only let IRL cars run there). CART is no more, and the IRL is the formula series in the US.

The same could happend to F1 and the FOTA.

now if FOTA allowed for open rules.. that would be interesting.. drivers would be wearing jet fighter presurized suits, and walls would have to be made out of 10' thick cotton balls.

15" wheels, unlimited aero, ground effect, open engine to a displacment for Turbo/NA/Diesel... may the best formula win.

Matt,
It might be great news for F1, But I don't think the new open rules and money cap will include your RX7 even if you take off your fenders:D. Congrates on your win at NJ.:smilie_pokal: I would liked to have been there. I might of nocked off your fenders to help you make your car into a F1 car and I could of done it very cheep  johng

Then they will find ways around it.. just like one of my favorite GRM 200X challenge cars.. the Twin Turbo, corvette with active ground effect.

Yeah right.. for only 2007 dollars... give me a break!

Sure, but if they get the judges from LeMons to administer BS Cheater penalties... :happy204:
