from GCR

"Driver/Passenger Compartment - Trunk
a. The driver’s seat (only) shall be replaced with a one-piece bucket-type race seat. Factory seat tracks/brackets may be modified, reinforced, and/or removed to facilitate replacement mountings provided they perform no other function. All other seats may be removed."

To be clear, you mean: no, you can not remove the passenger brackets? because it is only for the installation of the driver seat that you can remove the bracket.

I am going with totally legal. Check GCR 9.1.3.9.e (covers the seat brackets) and 9.1.3.9.f (covers center console brackets).

IMHO, if the bracket is bolted in place, it can be removed. if the bracket is welded to the unibody/chassis then it has to stay. The exceptions to this are listed in the GCR as mentioned above.

Thanks for the help guys the GCR can be read many ways and with this build I don't want to mess it up.

17 lbs of sound deadening matting. The brackets total weight is probably 2-3 lbs still trimming
So far down to around 2100lbs without seat and roll cage installed....:happy204:
