Hey guys,

I just wanted to get some thoughts on a problem I had this past weekend at NJMP. We set the timing at 34 degrees total advance prior to the weekend. The car ran great most of the weekend. However, the last session we ran the car it progressively started running worse and worse.(Car started breaking up and had no power) Brought the car in and checked the timing. The timing retarded to 0 degrees total advance.

My initial impression is that something inside the distributor let go. Just wanted to get some thoughts of some more experienced folks. Anybody have any ideas?

If you have a stock crank pulley it's possible the rubber in the dampener broke free.

Check to make sure your timing chain did not jump a few teeth or that base plate in dist not loose.
