So I haven't really used Ebay to sell stuff before but as I was gutting the 968 I did have the presence of mind to take a digital photo of anything looking somewhat valuable.

I loaded up the shots on Flickr and then put my junk up for sale. Worked out pretty good:

Porsche 968

Parts sold off the car or came with the car:

Seats $400
Steering wheel $100
Carbon fiber hood $300
Rear wiper motor $95
Door panels $250
Harness bar $120
Tool kit $40
Exhaust $75
Tire compressor $60
Engine trim $175
total so far $1615

Spent $40 on Ebay ads and maybe $40 on shipping. Took me two weeks to sell this stuff and I put maybe 4 hours of effort into it.

Anybody else have luck selling off the parts from your race car donor???

few years ago I bought my Rabbit for $400 and when gutting the inside, basically did the same as you and paid for the Rabbit plus some change.

I offloaded a LOT of crap from multiple Golfs that went into the two Pablo builds on VWVortex - web loony land. The trick is to price stuff high and be patient. Someone will eventually come along who's willing do do the dumb thing for you.

Anyone see the article in Modified about the NSX owner who paid for his NSX with the truckload of spare parts the seller threw in with the car? Guess where he sold his parts ;)

Paid $400 for a donor Miata, with a hardtop (worth at least $800!) that will go on the ITA car-to-be, and have made over $600 back. None on ebay. Strictly web forums, mostly brownboard and GRM.

Getting more $$ back on parts then what you paid for the car? That's priceless :-)
