Do we have an official listing of track records compiled somewhere. Im in the northeast and wanted to check out fast lap times for tracks in the area but have been having some trouble. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Really I think you need to contact the timing chief for a region that runs at each track you are interested. I know of no data base that is kept up to date.

I know most of the ITS/ITA records if you want to tell me some tracks.

Go to http://www.scca.com/divisions.aspx?div=ne where you will find links to the NEDIV region web sites. Most of the racing regions have records for their "home" tracks somewhere on their web sites. There is no central list.

I remember talk about someone putting a site together to serve this purpose but nothing more than that.

Yea it would be nice to put together a database for these numbers.

Andy I was wondering the ITS record for Limerock and NHIS. Thanks!

I will make a proposal at the NeSCCA meeting in Rocky Hill next week to update the NeSCCA website to include all current and available past SCCA track records for tracks in NeSCCA area.

Darrel,

I think it would be really neat to see the past lap records as you mentioned to see when and how long people held the records and at what times they changed.

Me, too, so I can admire them before they get all ripped to shreds this year... ;)

Out here in San Francisco Region, we keep them maintained as well:

I'm surprised that every region doesn't do this.

Who has the NH & WGI short records?

Kip has the NHIS short (IIRC he blew his own time away at a later date in qualifying but never started that race due to electrical problems) record and Jeff Harding has the WGI short record.

The records are kept all over. For NeSCCA we have a location (see below), we just have to get the records to the NeSCCA webmaster and they will post. But it would be better to have one location for all SCCA based records, that should be in Topeka. Make it available from the SCCA website so anyone can find them. I race LRP, WGI, NJMP and Pocono, there should be a common place. We have the technology, we need to use it across the country.

From the NeSCCA webmasters - "We already have an area for track records. It can be found at the bottom of the club racing page at http://www.nescca.com/nescca_main/clubrace.html#trackrecords. (http://www.nescca.com/nescca_main/clubrace.html#trackrecords.) In October, Denise Patton, T&S DA, requested this service. We responded that if we receive records for more tracks, we will create a separate page for track records on the NESCCA web site. All we ask is that we get timely updates (at least once a year, but hopefully more often)."

Glen Records are at - http://www.glen-scca.org/roadracing/records.pdf

NHMS are on NeSCCA at -
http://www.nescca.com/nescca_main/trackrecnhms-ninso.pdf
and
http://www.nescca.com/nescca_main/trackrecnhms-ninsin.pdf

NJMP Lightning and Thunderbolt, Pocono, and LRP are on the way.

Hopefully one of these years we can get all SCCA records on the SCCA website so all records will be in one place.

Same topic came up on the prod forum and they are compiling a database for every track. Anyone willing to put the information in a database if we all submit records from our regions tracks??

We need a common place to store all SCCA track records. Sounds like a job for Topeka but for now in the northeast the www.NeSCCA.com (http://www.NeSCCA.com) site will do.

Contact the [email protected] to have your tracks SCCA records archived and saved. Carl and Kathy do a great job on that site. The NHMS documents there are PDF so to follow the trend please provide that.

The problem is keeping a central DB up-to-date. Our region maintains track records set at our events at our three local tracks, but expecting NESCCA to keep track of them is very unlikely, and over time those lists are going to be very stale.

I personally wouldn't even set up a common repository unless I also set up a process to maintain it.

That is the idea, what good is data if it isn't current. This is Database 101, a computer science intern can set up a database in their spare time. Even an unemployed computer geek from New Jersey can do it.

We all have to provide SCCA (Topeka) with the final audit, the 'Book' as it is called in our region. With in that audit (the 'Book') are new track records. This is how we would report to a single point of contact at SCCA and that would then be updated to the track records database. Keep it simple, we could even have it so the race chair or RE could update the database.

One day it would be nice to actually record all race results. Actually keep track of all races and results in a central SCCA database. We all belong to the SCCA, why not have our club keep track of our records???? or do we want 50 separate methods to track data for 50 separate tracks?

So I'll officially volunteer to set these up for IT* classes on http://www.roadraceautox.com

I'll write up a page that will list what I get in an email and when I get some time I'll make a form where users can update them themselves.

For now can you guys send me all the track records you know and can confirm to [email protected]. Please use the subject [IT Records] in your email Or send me links to websites where I can easily obtain them.

I will keep ITR,ITS,ITA,ITB,ITC,IT7 and just because I always wonder, T1,T2,T3,SSB and SSC.

Thanks for volunteering your time Tom, never heard of roadraceautox.com though, wouldnt setting something up on this site be better?

My question: When we get the results back and theres the *new track record at the bottom, what database is this being compared to? Why do only some races show up on mylaps? Could mylaps provide a more comprehensive and automatic system for us?

We will have the latest Pocono, LRP and NJMP (Thunderbolt and Lightning) records posted to www.NeSCCA.com (http://www.nescca.com/) once the head of the NNJR T&S brings the regions computers out of winter hibernation. On www.NeSCCA.com (http://www.NeSCCA.com) look under Club Racing at the bottom of the page.

We all belong to the SCCA, we need to keep asking mother SCCA to keep our records in an accessible common place like SCCA.com. We all pay dues and belong to the SCCA, plus these records are set at SCCA sanctioned events. All the results are provided to SCCA so all the information is there.

Remember what we heard from the National Convention in Vegas - "Make it easy, make it fun" - this is easy...... we already know how to have fun.

On the page I checked, only Pocono and NHIS were shown. I went to the club racing section, whcih linked me to the page, and i also linked to it from the news items on the main page...both lead to the same link. So, i couldn't find NJMP, LRP, etc.

Second, I spotted something that needs correction, (NER) who would I contact?

Thanks!

Pocono and NHMS are all that are that at this time. Need to gather the other tracks in the NeSCCA area.

I asked the Divisional Administrator for Timing and Scoring for NeDIV for the other tracks. If you know who to contact to get all the SCCA class track records please do so and get that information to the [email protected].

Jake - Things take time. If you need NER, contact the Chief of Timing & Scoring for NER.
