So the GCR says ITR cars can run 17 inch wheels (or larger if it came stock), and the 300zx line in the GCR specs says 16 inch. So does that mean I can ran either wheel size?

I think the answer to this was "Yes" when it came up before... i.e. The Integra Type R came with 15" wheels so it can use 15's or 17's (but not 16's). The Wombat 3000 SE came with 18's and can use 17's or 18's.

I was recently "schooled" by my friend Mr. Bettencourt on these rules:

Wheels/Tires
a. Any wheel/tire may be used within the following limitations:
1. Cars originally equipped with twelve (12) inch wheels may fit thirteen (13) inch wheels. Cars originally equipped with metric 365 wheels may fit fourteen (14) inch wheels, and cars originally equipped with metric 390 wheels may fit fifteen (15) inch wheels. The above-mentioned cars as well as those cars originally equipped with thirteen (13) inch or fourteen (14) inch wheels may fit up to a fifteen (15) inch wheel. Cars may not fit wheel diameters smaller than those listed on their spec line. All other cars shall retain the wheel diameter fitted as original equipment for their make, model, and type. Knockoff/quickchange type wheels are prohibited. Wheels must be made of metal. Cars classified in ITR may utilize any wheel diameter up to 17" or retain their stock diameter wheels if larger.

Almost all correct. 16's would be allowed for the Type R.

The ITAC is planning on fixing the wording of that rule right? or should I send in a official request?

Great, that makes it easier. Thanks.

This quote from Greg is the most clear way I have seen it put.

Examples:

your stock size is 15". You can use 15", 16", or 17"
your stock size is 16". You can use 16" or 17".
your stock size is 17". You can use 17".
your stock size is 18". You can use 17" or 18".

Thanks for the clarification Andy. That certainly helps to open up the wheel options. :)

While we're fixing the ITR wheels rule could we fix the BMW 328is spec line which has the car classed with a 17" when in fact it came stock with a 16" wheel.

Thanks,
R

Rob, Mike,

The E36 328i wheel size correction is already on its way to the CRB along with a lot of other ITR specification corrections and fill-in-the-blanks. No weights are changing, just missing/erroneous specifications. Keep your eye on Fastrack.

I figured you guys had a handle on that one Josh, but I figured I'd be a master of the obvious....

Thanks,

Is that the clean up we worked on a while back?
