Does anyone have a part number or source for a belt that would bypass the alternator and just turn the water pump off the crank pulley ?? This is for a 1.8L stock setup on my Golf.
EDIT: Also not looking to upgrade to aluminum or smaller pulleys, etc. thanks
Thanks in advance,
drew

Drew, I used the old rope technique to measure the approximate length of a belt to just run the water pump off the crankshaft pulley.
Went to Advance Auto Parts and search through the available toothed belts until I found a couple belts that I though would work without an idler.
I found a belt that required the water pump pulley to be removed so the belt could be installed with the correct amount of belt tension.
Sorry I don't remember the part number as I sold the WackyWabbit and everything to Harry Puckett in Shelby, NC.
Good luck, Ryan.

Thanks Ryan, I'll use your idea for measurement !!! Figured I'd end up buying 2 or 3 belts and finding which one works best. I think I bought one of the last headers that Walt Puckett made when I was (foolishly) trying to build my first Scirocco.
thanks again,
