Anybody else read the ITA Miata project article in the August Sports Car?

Apparently its now OK to substitute parts from a '99 Miata on a '96 ITA Miata (they installed a '99 diff). Isn't the '99 Miata classed in ITS?

Well, the R&P is free, and the diff is free. As long as they didn't replace or modify any other items to make it fit in there, it's legal...

On edit: Moved topic to Rules Discussion...

The reason that was used is that it is a very economical way to upgrade. The same housing is used between the years and if you find one with a 4.3 torsen it makes for a bolt-in swap.

Yep, even a couple of knucklehead cone chasers can do this swap. Thanks to Flatout Motorsports.
