How are the A048s in 205-60-13 for as small car?
(ITC- CRX).

There are some listed on the 'bay for $79 each.
Price seems like a steal.

Thanks,

Todd

Have some on my street/track car. Not as grippy as RA-1s much less Hoosiers. I would not race on them.

A hideously bad race tire...and there is somebody selling them for $49 each on fleabay, if you know where to look.

Those are left-over Spec Racer Ford tires (185-13 and 205-13)...and they're "left-over" because the SRF guys (myownsef included) bitched so much about these tires that we bailed to Goodyear in the middle of the Yokohama contract.

Probably make good boat fenders, though....

Additional features of the A048:

They heat cycle out well before they wear out.

They also suck in the rain.

Aside from that and the above they're one hell of a tire.

Can I repeat that they suck? As in really bad?

I had a set of Toyo RA1s, unshaved, as a hybrid street/track tire on my Lotus Esprit. Did pretty good too.

I then sold the Esprit and bought an Exige. Exige came with A048s. Toasted them (heat cycle, not wear) in two weekends on track. Then, as Muda mentions, they were basically frightening in the rain.

Avoid. Crap. Turds. Not even polished turds.
