That is pretty cool, and ITD car! Damn, I wasn't done nerdin' out in high school at that time, much less driving a race car!

I like that second seat there, what was that for, the pretense of the "IT double duty car"? We're a long way from that nowadays, including yourself!

We weren't allowed to remove the passenger seat under the IT rules at the time. It was required that cages be bolt-in ONLY when we built it.

Know your IT history. Live your IT history. BE your IT history.

That is pretty cool, I have to say. While I like what we have now far better, I wouldn't have said no to that either. Neat stuff. Love to see more "Vintage IT" cars, anyone have shots?

That second seat was for Jean Paul who worked on the car's electrics and oiling system on the straightaways.....

Yikes!

That brings back memories.

Did you race that car in the Alliance cup series?

Is that like your illegal trunk monkey?

Exactly!

Upon further review, I find these cars to be COOL. Renault sedans racing in IT? I miss it.

Renault sedans racing in IT?

Probably about the closest thing to a French War Machine that exists.

My buddy Brian Towey drove at the Portland and Laguna races the last two seasons, plus Riverside in '84. We got a late start and since we were in Seattle, it was a long haul to most of the races. I remember you being in some epic races up in the top 6 or so at those deals - you, Parker, Lance, Ron, Mitch Wright. That was some good stuff.

I took it over for my SCCA Novice and Regional races after the IMSA series petered out.

We still have three of them (former IMSA Renault Cup Renaults) racing here in NE Ohio. They run in IT-C and I hold the Nelson Ledges track record for IT-C in my old man color maroon one. We have changed them to meet SCCA IT-C rules of course.
I would like to buy some more of the 13" wheels if anyone has any laying around for these cars.
