What to do with a dammaged Miata body, but good running gear & frame/floor?

SSM, It's a little work but the price is right:

Tires:
Rear 275-40-17 Front 245-45-17 you can get them scrap from Grand Am friends

Aero Dynamics & Body:
OPEN, I'll tell you more later, Thin Alum ( .016 to .025 ), Epoxy, Foam, F-Glass, ect. Wings front & rear, Even air going through the body ( A SCCA NO NO ?? ) no thick or heavy matierals

Chassie:
Stock Dash instrument cluster area, 2 seats, open cockpit no doors or enclosed w/ doors, curved Lexan wind shield, Cut some or most of the body off, Blend a roll cage to meet very safe requirements, make it look cool and Aero adjustable ( all fun )

Suspension:
Current Spec Miata Suspension, or other, not too much $$

Brakes:
Are there any good cheep 4 piston calapers & hat rotors?

Engine:
1.8 with Just a Spec Cam & any headers ( Must be available for sale under $500 )

I think it could be built for $4500. ( if 4 cyl "Stock Car" Steel rims are Available in 17" )

So it would look like a small Panos GTP and fun to drive, what do you think?

Absolutely this club is crying for more Miata classes. It could be our salvation.

Actually what you are talking about could be raced in SPU. It could be fun to build a SPU car with a Grassroots challenge mind set.

The 12A is eligible for SPU in our area, right Dick? I wonder what a race-bred version that motor in a EP/FP prep kinda car could lay down...
