What size genearotor do I need?

I figure that my small 2hp compressor or a small air conditionerat night (6000BTU 110v) would be the biggest items I would use.

Let's assume that travel space is an issue.

Thanks,

Todd

I don't care what size you get, but out of consideration for those around you, (The FIRST decision factor), you must get a quiet one, like the Hondas or Yamahas with dBa ratings in the low 60 or high 50s.

From there, you can choose ...For use with an AC unit, I'd recommend, and went with, a 3000 watt unit, like the Yamaha I got. It's got auto idle, electric start, and a power smoothing circuit, and it's pretty quiet. It's also heavy, and not cheap, but it's, well, a yamaha, so build quality is quite high. Buy once, do it right.

If you are going to run the compressor and the air at the same time, 3k is not large enough. The compressor will require about 1500 watts, but it will require a surge capacity of probably twice that to start. Check the amp rating on the air unit, but I think they are also around 1500 watts. So, the minimum I would consider would be 4500 watts. Honda, Yamaha, or Kawasaki ONLY!!!! If you are interested, Kubota has some killer small diesel units that run forever on fuel. Hope this helps, Chuck

Dump the compressor and take a tank....probably less weight, and nitrogen.

I actually would prefer an extension cord if power is avavilable at the track...
