Okay boys and girls Hankooks are going to be here at the end of February. Should be no later than the first few days of March. They are going to blow out very quickly. If you intend to run Hankook's and want to have them before the first race, I am strongly suggesting you place your order ...NOW !!!
There will not be another container until May. These will be the C51's ( the latest compound). There has also been a price increase. They will cost more than last year. New prices will be up on PhilsTireService.com maybe as soon as tonight.

Some examples of new prices:

225/50R14 Z214 C51 $162
205/50R15 Z214 C51 $180
225/45R15 Z214 C51 $187
245/45R16 Z214 C51 $212
245/40R17 Z214 C51 $228

Wow that is more than 10% on the 225/45/15. Hope that includes shipping. Other wise they will cost just as much as the other H word tire. Not good, the draw to the Hankooks was price now they are just as expensive as all the others. :(

Joe, the Hoosiers are now $210 in that size.

The Hankook price does not include the shipping. We could probably avoid the freight if you order at least 12 in one shot.

Phil, if there are a couple of us that group our order together and ship to one location, would freight charges be avoidable then?

Goodyear has decided again that they don't want to play so I will be testing both Hoosier and the Kook. I am sure I will be ordering a couple sets of the Kook's from Phil to start at NHIS.

Dave,

The way it would work is....

Place the order with me for the quantity. I will pick them up and then they can picked up from me at my shop, or we could arrange a drop off spot. This way the freight would be next to nothing.

Something that I neglected to mention regarding the Hankook price increase was.
Last spring Hankook reduced the price on their race tires 8%.......so this year it appears like the price has gone up significantly, when in reality it really has only gone up minimally just like the other race tire manufacturers. Just a reminder.......

So Andy, how much will you be selling those test results for? :) Seriously, I hope you either post it here or shoot me an e-mail. No ITA car here.

I'll share it all for nothing. Info gathered so far from the fast FWD guys in ITA shows nominal differences if any. IF they are slower, all the track records stay safe.......

If we all run them, at least 3 people get to suppliment their tire budget each race. Not bad.
