Early this year I went to Carolina motorsports track twice.

The first time I was on sticker toyo's on my ITB car. Only raced saturday.

The very next month I went again. I was about 4 sec slower.

The weather was the same, car was the same, etc...

I couldnt figure it out until I noticed a discussion on the specmiata forum about how hard CMP is on tires. Apparently, to be fast you have to run stickers. CMP mows through tires.

Now, my question is...are there other tracks around the southeast that are also very hard on tires?

Tires are a big portion of my budget, and I would like to avoid these tracks if possible.

Roebling used to be worse than CMP. Not so bad now with the repave. Any roval is going to wear the tires if you don't set the car up for the banking, and even then Rockingham is pretty rough on them.

I've not had the tire wear issues others experience at CMP, not sure why. But I used to kill a set of tires in a weekend at Roebling on the old surface.

Stickers are not the fastest tire at CMP. Do a little more testing. :018:

I dont know for certain that stickers are the fastest....

I had my personal experience, meaning purely empirical.

But, I did read on spec miata...I think it was Bob Thornton...stating that if you want to turn fast laps you have to run brand new tires.

Regardless, this isnt so much a concern for me now, as I will probably not be running CMP much with my move to Florida.

Anyone have opinions on sebring, homestead, moroso, daytona?
