I've got a chance to get some nice weld in strut tower camber plates for me Z. I've got some horrible old Carrera stuff that is about shot. Are the weld in plates legal? I think they are, but I'm at a hotel and can't seem to download the GCR due to a heniously slow connection.

I believe they are. Some of the VW guys have been known to completely rebuild the strut towers...

Here you go:

1. Cars equipped with MacPherson strut suspension may
decamber wheels by the use of eccentric bushings at
control arm pivot points, by the use of eccentric bushings
at the strut-to-bearing-carrier joint, and/or by use
of slotted adjusting plates at the top mounting point. If
slotted plates are used, they shall be located on existing
chassis structure and may not serve as a reinforcement for
that structure. Material may be added or removed from the
top of the strut tower to facilitate installation of adjuster
plate.

Dick, sounds legal to me. I'd like to have a set that worked easily and adjusted the way they are supposed to work.

Yea I think so, the only time I have seen anyone question it is on some of the veedub where they add a whole lot of structure.
